Summons, Bails, Warrants

About

In the district courts of India, 70% of the pending cases are stuck at a stage before trial. In criminal cases, this is usually related to summons and warrants.

This module in DRISTI allows for smoother management of the summons and warrants process by

  1. Allowing for multiple channels of summons to be actioned simultaneously

  2. Use of templates to simplify creation of summons orders, and instructions to issue summons

  3. Integration with information systems like with those of NSTEP, Police, India Post to both send and receive updates so status of summons can be tracked

  4. Setting up of workflows for escalation, expected time of delivery, and non-delivery / incorrect address handling

  5. Payment and processing fees

While today, most channels of issuing summons are State actors (RPAD, NSTEP, Police), DRISTI is compatible with the creation of any summons channel, so if an arbitration centre wants to use courier or other private delivery channels, they can be enabled and rules can be crafted as per requirement
